About this treatment

What to know before your consultation

Acute stroke occurs when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted by a blocked artery (ischaemic stroke) or bleeding (haemorrhagic stroke). Sudden weakness, speech difficulty, facial droop, or vision loss require emergency assessment — every minute affects how much brain tissue can be saved. Initial CT scanning distinguishes bleed from blockage and guides immediate treatment.

Ischaemic stroke may be treated with clot-dissolving medication and, in selected cases, mechanical thrombectomy to retrieve the clot from a large vessel. Haemorrhagic stroke may require blood pressure control, reversal of anticoagulants, or emergency surgery to relieve pressure. Neurovascular imaging (CT angiography or catheter angiography) maps the affected vessels and informs the intervention plan.

Dr. Nikhil Bhamare provides emergency stroke evaluation and neurosurgical coordination at Medinova Super Speciality Hospital, Nashik. Rapid referral, early imaging, and a coordinated ICU pathway improve the chance of meaningful neurological recovery and guide rehabilitation planning from the first hours of care.
